Tom Concannon, MA, LMFT
Serving Jackson and greater Wyoming
With more than 20 years of experience in the field of mental health, Tom Concannon brings a deep well of knowledge, compassion, and professionalism to his private practice in Jackson Hole. A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Tom specializes in helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges with clarity, strength, and renewed connection.

A Journey Rooted in Compassion and Experience

Tom’s path to becoming a therapist began unexpectedly in 1990, when he started working at Red Top Meadows Residential Treatment Center in Jackson Hole. As a Youthcare Staff member, Wilderness Leader, and eventually Staff Supervisor, he found purpose in supporting young people who had experienced significant trauma. That experience ignited his passion for therapy and led him to pursue a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington.
During graduate school, Tom worked at the Tacoma Psychiatric Crisis Triage Center, deepening his understanding of acute mental health needs. After earning his degree, he served in various community mental health roles in Seattle and Tacoma, and was contracted by PLU to supervise therapists-in-training and teach Structural Family Therapy at the master’s level.

A Deep Commitment to Jackson Hole
Originally from Massachusetts, Tom moved to Jackson Hole in 1988 to ski and immerse himself in the outdoors—but the community quickly captured his heart. He met his future wife here, discovered his calling as a therapist, and has called Jackson home (on and off) for over three decades. In 2006, he returned with his family to Jackson and spent the next nine years as a Child and Family Therapist at the Van Vleck House Group Home and Crisis Shelter. His leadership and dedication led to his promotion as Director of Red Top Meadows, where he served as therapist, clinical supervisor, and administrator.
In 2025, Tom opened his private practice to serve the Jackson Hole and greater Wyoming community directly. His practice is grounded in empathy, resilience, and the belief that meaningful change is always possible.

What Sets Tom Apart

Tom’s longevity in the mental health field—and his ability to work effectively with highly complex cases—sets him apart. His clinical perspective is informed by decades of direct client care, supervisory roles, and leadership positions in residential and crisis settings. Clients often describe him as thoughtful, experienced, and grounded.
He believes that therapy is not about giving advice but about helping people reconnect with their strengths, clarify their goals, and move forward with purpose. Tom works with teens, adults, couples, and families and is especially drawn to those navigating transitions, trauma, relational challenges, or a desire for personal growth.

Life Beyond the Therapy Room

Tom and his wife have been incredibly grateful to raise their two sons in the heart of Jackson Hole. Now college-aged and becoming independent, their sons have grown up with a shared love for the outdoors and the benefits of a strong educational foundation.
When he’s not in session, you can find Tom exploring the mountains—skiing, biking, running, fishing, and kayaking. He’s also an avid reader with a passion for everything from history to detective fiction.
